    Our Energy Unit in Cape Town is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to assist with the provision of engineering services in the Renewable Energy Industry.

    The ideal candidate will have proven experience in primarily solar projects but also wind and hydro. Specific experience should include resource assessments, design, costing, tendering and construction of solar and wind facilities and hydropower electrical design.

    Working closely with the Renewable Energy Services Leader, this role provides an excellent opportunity to join a growing team, capable of providing all of the skills necessary to deliver engineering services for Renewable Energy developments.
    Required Skills

    Formal Qualification and Experience
    B.Sc (Electrical Engineering)/B.Ing(Electrical Engineering)
    At least 2 – 3 years experience in a similar/related field

    Specific skills that need to be demonstrated by the incumbent are:
    A detailed understanding of both Solar and Wind resource modeling tools
    A detailed understanding of solar, wind and hydro equipment selection, design and layout.
    Proven ability to specify high voltage equipment and successfully negotiate supply and installation contracts.
    Knowledge of the associated electrical, mechanical design and commercial issues relating to Renewable Energy projects.
    A detailed working knowledge of the South African DoE REIPP procurement process
    Have excellent interpersonal skills and be client facing
    Self-management skills and the ability to communicate with people from a range of backgrounds are also essential.

    Required Outputs
    The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of Renewable project development both in South Africa as well as the rest of Africa. It would be required of the incumbent to travel as may be necessary for projects.

    It will be expected of the successful Candidate to:
    Assist and lead the development of project proposals
    Assist with the preparation of tender designs
    Compile and evaluate tenders
    Assist clients with project development during all stages of the project life cycle
    Site supervision and commissioning during construction
    Conduct wind and solar resource assessments
