“The Pretoria workshop, on June 18, has been arranged by the Department of Science and Technology and will focus on policy and regulatory frameworks – as well as the technology needed for solar power production in the South African context. It follows work done by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on reviewing a road map produced by the CSIR on solar energy technology. In the workshop announcement, Minister Naledi Pandor’s department said it sees the gathering as “providing a solid foundation” for local solar energy technology.”
