Renewable Energy Market Transformation Project in South Africa: General Procurement Notice

The Government of South Africa has received financing in the amount of US$ 6 million equivalent from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) towards the cost of Renewable Energy Market Transformation (REMT) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. The REMT Project will be jointly financed by the South African Department of Energy (DoE) and approved private sector and public sector organisations.

For the period to November 2012, the REMT Project will include the following components, which primarily focus on technical assistance and capacity-building as outlined herein:

Component A: Renewable Energy Power Generation (REPG) – Technical Assistance and Capacity-Building in the form of matching grants.

Component B: Solar Water Heating (SWH) – Technical Assistance and Capacity-Building in the form of matching grants and performance grants.

This is a General Procurement Notice and specific procurement notices will be announced as they become available.
