A 4-week course to meet emerging professional needs in the areas of climate data & information use, climate risk & vulnerability assessment, adaptation planning & decision support in policy & practice.
The Climate Systems Analysis Group CSAG at the University of Cape Town, the Oxford office of the Stockholm Environment Institute SEI Oxford and the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership GCAP are offering a 4-week course to meet emerging professional needs in the areas of climate data and information use, climate risk and vulnerability assessment, adaptation planning and decision support in policy and practice.


The course will run from the 12 July to the 6 August 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa.


The staff of CSAG, SEI Oxford and GCAP have years of experience in providing training, technical support and education specific to climate science and climate adaptation. The course will be taught by leading climate scientists and adaptation experts, balancing seminar-style teaching with hands-on learning. We aim to provide an overview of the latest relevant science and professional experiences, presenting core concepts, innovative methods and tools, working through case studies, visiting local projects and engaging key stakeholders.


The course is open to all interested participants, including those from governments, companies, international organisations, universities, NGOs and any individuals.
