Introduction to the Lead Crystal Battery

Lead Crystal Batteries are designed to satisfy the increasing demand for a more powerful, sustainable and greener battery for numerous global industries such as the automotive, telecomunications, electricity, health, transportation and computor industries.
Lead-Acid Batteries are fast becoming unacceptable to the growing number of environmentally aware and technologically advanced communities the world over. The process of manufacturing and producing Lead-Acid Batteries vs.Lead Crystal Batteries has vast environmental impacts like, waste and pollutant emissions and effluents during and after manufacture.
To meet these market requirements, the battery industry invested extensive R & D expenditure over numerous years in order to introduce the new generation Lead Crystal Batteries. The Lead Crystal Battery is ideally suited for electric cars and trains, solar, wind technology, and UPS applications in a greener more sustainable world.
The lead-crystal battery technology has exclusive patents. This technology is available today, mass produced, and manufactured in accordance with environmental protection standards.

Lead Crystal Batteries in comparison to Lead-Acid Batteries have unparalleled advantages
Longer Battery Life

Lead-acid batteries have a many different designs for different applications. Some are designed to cycle, others to deliver high currents for short periods. Cycle life, for deep cycle applications differ in the actual design life of the batteries. The typical Lead-acid batteries will in general charge and discharge for about 300-350 cycles, whilst lead-crystal batteries, under similar conditions will deliver for 700-800 cycles. This results in a lead crystal battery to have an expected useful life of more than double that of the life of a lead-acid battery, or an expected life of 7 to 10 years, as opposed to the expected useful life of 2 to 3 years with the lead-acid battery.

Shelf Life
Lead Crystal Batteries discharge very slowly under fully charged conditions, whilst the units are stored or transported. Even after being stored for two years, Lead Crystal Batteries can be immediately used without any charge. The 2V series can keep more than 99.9% of the capacity even after a two month period of not being used. This simplifies the logistics of fully charged batteries immensely as batteries in stock do not need to be cycled out of stock to be charged every few months.

High-Rate Discharge
Special lead-crystal battery technology allows for high-rate discharge characteristics, the general lead-acid batteries work optimally at discharge rates of only 3C, while lead crystal battery discharge can reach up to 10C.

Excellent Charge Performance
Lead crystal batteries would normally require a charge time of only 20% of the time required for charging a lead acid battery. This simplifies battery maintenance dramatically.

Depth of Discharge
A Lead crystal battery can be discharged to 0 Volt, and will still restore to the full rated capacity, whilst a lead-acid battery will restore with difficulty, and more than likely not recover at all in this condition. This effectively increases the usable battery capacity of a lead crystal battery with 25%, if compared with it’s lead-acid equivalent.

Low Temperature Resistance
Lead crystal batteries can function in temperature ranges of -40 to +50 degrees Celsius, and can deliver more than 85% of its rated capacity at minus 40 degrees Celsius. Lead-acid batteries normally would sharply loose their discharge ability under sub-zero conditions.

Green
Lead crystal batteries use new materials, new processes and new formulations. There is no mist or a harmful, gaseous emission, the basic electrolyte is neutral, non-corrosive, and cannot filter into the ground, etc. Lead crystal batteries will not cause pollution; therefore it is in line with ever increasing environmental protection requirements.

Safe to Transport
Lead crystal batteries are classified as non-hazardous devices and are safe to transport by land, sea and air, while lead-acid batteries may not be transported by air. This is primarily due to the electrolyte composition of the lead crystal battery which is non corrosive.
