According to Deloitte’s African Construction Trends Report (2013), 34% of all major construction projects are taking place in East and Central Africa. These projects are worth a total value of US$83 billion. Of the 110 identified mega-projects in East and Central Africa, 72% are in the energy sector. That equates to 79 projects worth a staggering US$60 billion. In fact, considering the estimated value of the Inga III project in the DRC, this figure rises to US$140 billion.
