According to Deloitte’s African Construction Trends Report (2013), 34% of all major construction projects are taking place in East and Central Africa. These projects are worth a total value of US$83 billion. Of the 110 identified mega-projects in East and Central Africa, 72% are in the energy sector. That equates to 79 projects worth a staggering US$60 billion. In fact, considering the estimated value of the Inga III project in the DRC, this figure rises to US$140 billion.

Powertricity Africa will bring together key industry stakeholders to develop strategies to meet the region’s ambitious generation capacity goals that will drive economic development. The conference event promises to be a game changing platform for the sector and a first of its kind in the region – bringing local, regional and international thought leaders together to map a strategic road going forward.
