“The Green Technology Grant is aimed at industry –to achieve cleaner production and improved energy efficiencies e.g. recycling, solar panels, establishment of renewable energy infrastructure and water treatment projects. This is to encourage local industries to be in a position to supply the REIPP projects, who are required to use “local content”.
5.7 billion rand has been set aside for this program to encourage job creation and stimulate the development of the alternative energy industry in South Africa from 4th June 2012 till 31st March 2018.
Applications must be submitted at least 60 days before the relevant intervention being applied for and is applicable to already running companies as it is based on a historial balance sheets”
