The 9th Nigeria Alternative Energy Expo 2019 Opens


The Nigeria Alternative Energy Exhibition tagged NAEE 2019Africa’s largest energy market now in its 9th Edition opens today at the Shehu Yar’Adua Conference Centre, Abuja.

The Conference was declared open by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Mohammadu Buhari with a keynote address focusing on the theme: “Devising winning pathways – Strategies and planning for reaching objectives’’. The event according to the organizing committee will be witnessed by the top ministerial delegates led by the Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo Agege and top stakeholders in the energy industry.

According to the NAEE founder and chairman, Mr. Chris Edeh, a cream of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps will be led by the French Ambassador, His Excellency Jerome Pasquier and his Finland counterpart, HE Dr. Jyrki Pukkinen. Other top government officials expected at the official opening ceremony include HE Alhaji Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State, the Minister of State for Trade and Commerce, Hon. Maryam Katagum; Senator Gabriel Suswam, Chairman, Senate Committee on Power and his counterpart, House of Representative Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Magaji Dau as well as the House Committee Chairman on Gas, Hon. Nicholas Mutu.

Also speaking on the diversification of event, the Chairman of the NAEE organizing committee, Dr. Emmanuel Onyejeose and a founding member of the Board of Trustees, BoT of Sustainable Energy Practitioners of Nigeria, SEPAN, explained the importance and essence of the continuing awareness creation of renewable energy option which has been focusing on modalities of meeting the challenges of inadequate power generation capacity now in its 9th edition. Dr. Emmanuel said lots of equipment and know-how techniques will be exhibited and demonstrated at the conference with series of panel discussions to be chaired by experts from the Ministerial and Departmental Agencies, MDA as well as industry, academic egg heads and manufacturers across the global. A powerful delegation is expert from South Africa.

Highlights of the panels include critical factors that influence renewable energy power projects. This session will be chaired by Senator Rose Oko, chairman, Trade and Investment with Mr. Segun Awolowo, Director-General, Nigeria Export Promotion Commission as key participants. Other panels will focus on innovative financing options, pathways to profitable mini grid projects and marketing options in solar homes.

According to Dr. Emmanuel other attractions at the conference and seminar include a discourse on Women in renewable energy as stewards in the environment and business network session which will be followed by Energy Award Cocktail Night Nicon Hilton Hotel.
