An assessment will be conducted to evaluate the effects of installing carbon capture and storage (CCS) in power systems in the regions of Southern Africa and the Balkans using a techno-economic model. The assessment scope will include the following tasks:
Data collection and determination of the costs of CCS specific to different locations throughout Southern Africa and the Balkans.
Data collection on the power systems of each region.
Modeling of both the regional power systems individually under a range of scenarios using a techno-economic model, and examination of the impact of incremental costs of building CCS units on electricity prices and the levelized cost of electricity.
Preparation of a report and PowerPoint presentation explaining the findings.
