Rainmaker Energy Projects (Pty) Ltd (“Rainmaker”), Johannesburghas a number of wind projects currently under development in South Africa. Rainmaker is putting out a Request for Proposals (RFP) to supply equipment for one of these projects. This international invitation relates to the contract selection process for turbine equipment supplier(s) and/or EPC supplier in connection with a 600 MW Wind Energy Facility (turbine size 2.0 – 3.3MW) (“the Project”), to be supplied in phases.
This contract will include:
1. Supply, Commission and Operate – A complete wind turbine “Supply, Deliver, Install, Commission, Warrantee, Operations and Maintenance” agreement; and/or
2. Fixed price EPC – A turnkey “Engineer, Procure and Construct” (EPC) type arrangement where civils, electrical and construction works are subcontracted by the wind turbine supplier, thus handing over a completed and commissioned plant to the owner. This would include a medium term Operations and Maintenance Agreement.
In the case of ‘Supply, Commission and Operate’ only, Rainmaker will procure a separate Balance of Plant (BOP) contract(s).
