International Student Volunteers (ISV) is seeking qualified candidates to lead conservation and community volunteer teams throughout South Africa and Swaziland.

ISV offers educational volunteer and travel programs in eight countries. In South Africa and Swaziland, volunteer projects focus on environmental conservation as well as community development and are run in collaboration with a range of well-respected conservation and community development organisations. Each volunteer team will consist of approximately ten international university-aged participants. Some participants in our program earn university credit for their involvement in the volunteer projects.

We are looking for individuals with group leadership experience and knowledge of conservation and/or community development issues in South Africa and Swaziland. Experience working with young adults in outdoor volunteer or educational programs and/or expertise in an environmental or community-related field is highly regarded.

Positions are available between May and September 2011. The minimum time commitment is four weeks (two projects) plus a mandatory training weekend in April 2011. Longer working commitments (up to 10 weeks) are negotiable. The deadline for applications is Friday, 29 January, 2011.
