The Regional Centre of Bavaria of the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ, (www.giz.de), operates in behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Technology and Transport. Target group: Twelve high potential, junior executives from the upper and middle management level from private sector companies, ministries or municipalities within the field of renewable energies, waste-water- or waste-management, who can be characterised by an interest in finding solutions within their individual area of responsibility and being highly motivated towards acquiring qualifications in support of their own career Objectives: The three-month training is organized within the framework of the export promotion and business cooperation scheme of the Free State of Bavaria. It comprises a four-week cutting-edge training on management subjects (including a number of excursions to market-leading Bavarian companies and institutions) and a challenging seven-week industrial placement at companies and institutions in Bavaria, where they amalgamate conceptual learning with hands-on experience. This intensive training programme provides practical business experience and helps to establish and consolidate business contacts. In this context the training fosters cross-cultural business relations between Bavaria and South Africa /Lesotho, provides your companies and institutions with firsthand contacts to Bavarian companies/institutions. Participants will achieve: Knowledge and understanding of economical orientation and processes of Bavarian companies: structures, targets, market orientation, technologies and work-flows Knowledge about new approaches to solutions in renewable energies, wastewater- and waste-management Improvement of management-skills Contacts, exchange, action strategies and cooperation’s between companies in South Africa, Lesotho and Bavaria Contents: Conveyance of modern management techniques (a draft of the overview is enclosed) Industrial placement in selected Bavarian companies or institutions. Excursions to companies, official contacts, trade-fair RENEXPO Cultural Excursions Learning and Teaching Methods: The focus of the stay in Bavaria is a seven week internship in selected Bavarian private companies and institutions. It starts with a one month management training and professional excursions. The programme is oriented on the specific technology and business interests of the participants, as identified by the applicants.
