About the Speakers
LJ Grobler is professor in Mechanical Engineering at the School for Mechanical Engineering at the NorthWest University, Potchefstroom. He is the President of the Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE), a director of the company Energy Cybernetics Pty Ltd and a director of the Energy Training Foundation (ETF). He was the 2007/8 President of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) based in Atlanta, USA. He was the first non-American to become president. The SAEE is the local chapter of the AEE.

He is certified as an Energy Manager (CEM) and a Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). LJ is registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and received his Ph.D. at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. LJ has authored and co-authored more than 40 local and international articles, presented and co-presented more than 50 papers at local and international conferences and seminars, and conducted more than 100 industrial and commercial energy audits.

Peter Damant holds a B.Eng (Mech), M.Eng (Mech) and MBL. Peter is the Managing Director of Spirax Sarco, a global leader in steam engineering that provides a full range of products for the efficient control of steam and condensate, steam system audits, steam trap surveys, steam system design, product commissioning and repairs, and energy saving solutions. Spirax Sarco is a Blue Premier Member of the SAEE.
