South Africa will be hosting the seventeenth Conference Of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 17) and the 7th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 7) in Durban this December. The Sustainable Energy Seminar will act as a build up event for Cop17 and CMP 7.
Germany has a long and sucessfull history of energy efficiency in the built environment. Energy performance certificates has been introduced with the implementation of the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Since then energy performance certificates became even more important and they are playing the key role in the certification scheme.
Simon Wössner of the Fraunhofer Institute of Building Physics, Stuttgart, will address the topic of “Energy in the built environment and the successful implementation of compulsory energy ceritfication”.
Join leading researchers, sector leaders, government representatives and stakeholders of the energy sector as they meet to discuss the practical aspects of a sustainable future within the energy sector.
The second annual Sustainable Energy Seminar will be held at the Emperor’s Palace on the 12th October 2011.
