A customer and solution driven organization, dedicated at deploying the best available technologies to develop, build and operating PV systems. The first turnkey PV supplier with a triple ISO certification. The track-record includes more than 180 MWp PV installations worldwide. We are seeking a Construction & Site Manager for the office in South Africa.
Position
Below some key points regarding this position:
· Job Title: Construction & Site Manager
· The position is based in Cape Town
· Reporting to: Vice President Construction Management
The main responsibilities are:
Support Engineering team in planning phase
Site surveys (civil)
Support Supply Management in selecting subcontractors
Assess and negotiate quotations with Supply department
Supervise and coordinate the construction of projects
Assist Project management on construction sites
Coordinate contracts and individual construction services
Liaise with energy-supply companies
Draw up construction schedules, organise and oversee work at construction sites
Execute and supervise the Testing procedures and Technical takeover
Documentation of project
Support O&M (Operation & maintenance) of PV plants
Communicate effectively company values and objectives
Profile
Degree in civil engineering, preferable with basic knowledge in electricity
Experience from the Construction field, preferably within the Renewable Energy Resources environment
· Experience in CAD-drawing as well as experience photovoltaic systems desirable
· An excellent knowledge of MS Office
· Analytical thinking and strong negotiating skills
· Proactive, with high level of entrepreneurship, energy level and motivation
· Strong team builder with excellent managerial skills and multicultural awareness. Good team worker with sense of the common good
· Excellent communication skills, persuading personality, customer and goal oriented
· Analytical thinking with focus on customer and goals.
· Speaks and writes English fluently. Good knowledge of another language (e.g. German, Italian, French) is an advantage.
· A willingness to travel
· High social and intercultural competence
· Flexible and adaptable with a “can-do” attitude
· Take “ownership” to tasks and responsibilities
