Innovations in ESG (Environmental Social Governance)

ESG Green Pages is looking for great ideas. We are looking to profile exciting people and projects in the ESG sector for our business-to-business title. The magazine launched at COP17 and is now taking the SA agenda forward this year with two issues, one for June and the second distributed in November. But the brand is larger than the widely-read publication, it is a communication platform and a growing community of ESG practitioners. One extension is the Smart Cities Expo in June (details below). There will be a special feature on Smart Cities in the next issue. So we are looking for editorial submissions from players in the field .We are showcasing innovators, great ideas, thought leaders, new projects, exciting products and technologies and cutting-edge management ideas for sustainability. If you have projects, or people, who are noteworthy, send us an email with a submission or motivation of no more than 150 words to editor@topco.co.za. For participation enquiries, please contact ross.maltman@topco.co.za

ESG Green Pages in partnership with the Department of the Environmental Affairs and ESG Green Pages, will be hosting a three-day event on the 6/7/8th June 2012.

There is a top line-up of world-class speakers and the MC for the event is media personality and climatologist Simon Gear.

The event will cover a host of local challenges, most notably:
inefficient transport services, outdated water and waste networks,
adapting IT integration, rising pollution levels, an increased demand
for energy, a strain on health and security, education and poor urban
management. With a prediction of 80% of South Africa’s population
living in cities in the near future, the motivation for creating smart
and sustainable cities and towns has never been more important.

Smart city planning is now a worldwide trend and is becoming the norm in countries as different as the USA, China and those in Europe.

Smart Cities are also growth and prosperity drivers, creating huge commercial opportunities.
Attendees at the Smart Cities Summit already include National, Local and Local Government as well as a high representation of industry leaders.
