National Waste Management Strategy

As required by Sections 72 and 73 of the Waste Act, public consultation on the National Waste Management Strategy is required before it may be finalised. An extensive consultation process has been organised by the National Department of Environmental Affairs and its provincial counterparts. 
We would also like to inform you that the gazetting of the draft strategy is imminent and we encourage you to please send us your comments on the strategy
– there will be no changes between the version that has been uploaded and the version to be gazetted. You may either comment directly on the strategy via this site, or  email your comments for submission.

Consultation
As required by Sections 72 and 73 of the Waste Act, consultation on the draft strategy is underway. A series of meetings have been scheduled 1) in each of the provinces and 2) with the main sectoral groupings at a national level. The following meetings have been scheduled:
